Following on from this blog post in April the Fisher family decided that rather than sit on a beach or around a hotel pool we were going to do a staycation this year.

We decided that we wanted to really focus on our kids, to maximise the quality time we were spending with them, and decided a bit of old fashioned fun was exactly what we needed.

Our to have started re-lookin at this list but also to create their own. A couple of activities appeared on both of their lists, to stay up to see the sunset, to be up to watch a sunrise, to see what animals come out at night, and to eat something they have caught!

Loved reading the list of the outdoor activities children could be doing rather than sitting inside on the computer or stuck in front of the TV.

Whilst I moan at my two for this at times, I’m quite pleased that Hannah (10) and Alex (6) can cross off a range of the activities. Whilst chatting about this at breakfast today I was delighted to hear from Hannah that she knew all about the list, then she confided she had seen it on Newsround!
